Getting Started
To launch SoftTouch, double click on the SoftTouch icon on
the desktop after the software installation has been completed:

Alternatively, you may launch SoftTouch from the program
menu (after pressing the Windows START button).
Shortly after launching SoftTouch, you will see a series of
windows popup on the screen:

The contents of this window will vary depending on what task
is being performed, such as opening up the database, checking accounts, etc.
This should be the first screen to appear, however.
Note: If any other screen appears, an error has occurred and
you should contact support. The most common reasons for an error occurring are
the hardware drivers not being found or drivers for the database engine not
being installed correctly during installation. See the
“Troubleshooting” section of the documentation for more information.
If it is your first time running SoftTouch, a
“configuration Wizard” screen will appear:

You can choose to configure various general options at this
time. You may also choose to skip this step by pressing the
“Cancel” button on the screen. If you do not want this screen to
appear in the future, you should press the “Next” button until it
changes to “Finish” OR click on the “System-3” tab and then press the “Finish” button.
Note: You can make the Wizard appear again in the future by
pressing the
button on the main system toolbar and
then pressing the button.
If this is your first time running SoftTouch, you will see a screen popup
telling you that a new account 1000 has been created. You should follow the
instructions in the popup window.

If you do not have any Dialogic hardware installed, you will
next see a screen like this:

Note: This screen does not indicate a problem with your computer or the
software. It is simply a warning screen telling you no hardware was detected.
Hardware is not required to evaluate SoftTouch's console features.
If you do have hardware installed, SoftTouch will
automatically detect the hardware and install the channels.
Note: Before attempting to run SoftTouch with hardware
installed, configuration options must be set. See “Configuring SoftTouch with hardware”.
Press the OK button to continue and you will then be
presented with the “About” screen:

The “About” screen displays the maximum channels
(ports) of hardware you have available in your license. In the bottom half of
the screen is important “release info” for you to read. Make sure
you agree to the terms & conditions of the software, support and license
before continuing.
Clicking OK on the “About” screen will bring up
the main toolbar:
